![]() Bob Clendenin plays the town undertaker, Vernon Shank. She is something of a love interest for Hoyle. Allison Dunbar plays a bartender and prostitute. He tries to avoid criminals and arresting anyone as much as possible. Apparently, being a deputy only pays the bills. What we do know about him is that he seems to want to have nothing really to do with enforcing the law. As of the first few episodes, this character hasn't been fleshed out very well. His character is very "book smart" but without a lot of "street smarts." Nick Brown plays his deputy, Eli Brocias. He is like a fish out of water, as the saying goes. He is a Harvard graduate who has taken the job of Sheriff in the small town of Great Bend, Kansas. Lehr reminds me a lot of Jason Bateman in Arrested Development. The show stars John Lehr as Sheriff John Hoyle. ![]() Casting for the main characters is fantastic. The comedy is quite funny, although it contains humor that may be inappropriate for younger viewers. It has a similar feel of improvisational comedy (although The Office wasn't improvisational, it certainly had that feel to it). If you like "The Office," you should like Quickdraw, as well. It is a contemporary comedy set in the "Old West" of Great Bend, Kansas. The show is not an "authentic" western in any sense. Quickdraw is a great new original series from Hulu. It's too bad Hulu didn't give this a chance to catch on. I gotta say, as great as the undertaker is, the deputy gives me so much to laugh about. If it didn't offend me, I wouldn't want to watch it. This isn't a show to help us be better, stronger, more loving people. And I also realize the "woke" crowd are going to come on here to tell us all how offended we should be, too. Another reviewer mentioned Blazing Saddles and this show really does remind me of the Mel Brooks movies, with their dead pan humor and innuendo. So many running gags! I love it! I realize people who watch television and movies for the sole purpose of critiquing them and sharing their pretention with the rest of the world will hate this show, but this isn't a show for the Sundance Festival. That this is improvised is the real cherry on top of this ice cream sundae of a show. I discovered this on Hulu when I was just flipping around not too long ago.
